Galán’s connection with padel began almost serendipitously. Born in Madrid, his parents moved to a new apartment complex that happened to have its own padel court. Initially, they mistook it for a poorly constructed tennis court, but little did they know that this would be the birthplace of Galán’s passion. As a child, he played with neighborhood kids and his older sister, honing his skills on the padel court. Football also tugged at his heartstrings, but Galán ultimately chose padel, dedicating himself to the sport he loved.
The Journey to the Top
Galán’s journey to the pinnacle of padel was not without its challenges. He entered the World Padel Tour in 2016, teaming up with Juan Cruz Belluati. Over the next few years, he switched partners, each collaboration contributing to his growth. In 2018, Galán clinched his first title on the tour alongside Matías Diaz. The following year, he partnered with Juani Mieres, securing victory at the Buenos Aires Padel Masters in Argentina. His partnership with Pablo Lima also yielded success, including a title win in Valencia. However, it was in 2020 that Galán found his perfect match: Juan Lebrón Chincoa. Together, they soared to new heights, becoming the world’s top-ranked pair.
