Paquito Navarro to Juan Lebron: “I don’t care about winning, I want to have fun!”

Paquito Navarro and Juan LeBron's return to play together has raised doubts about their compatibility, especially in 2024, as they struggled to achieve results and maintain their sparks.

When Paquito Navarro and Juan LeBron announced they were getting back together, many fans expressed doubts about the compatibility of the two men in 2024.

Indeed, despite a first place acquired together in 2019 on the WPT, these two strong temperaments preferred to stop because of the sparks they could generate on the track. This year, with results struggling to arrive (still no final to sink our teeth into), the difficulties in getting along are even more obvious.

This Thursday, for their entry into the running at Santiago Premier Padel P1, Paquito and Juan still had to fight to eliminate a much weaker pair on paper. Indeed, it took them three sets to dismiss qualifiers Marc Quilez and Toni Bueno (6/2 4/6 6/1). At the end of the match, while Lebron was positive by retaining the victory, his teammate had a completely different speech.

The sequence translated into English:

Paquito: “I don’t care about winning, we can’t go on the track to suffer. I say it for both of us, the objective is to try to have fun.”

Lebron: “It hurts me because that’s what I want too.”

Paquito: “I will never have a better teammate than you in my fucking life!”

Lebron: “It’s mostly that I’m with you, and I know I can do a lot better.”

Paquito: “Above all, you are the best! I’m never going to find a player better than you and I know that, but we have to have fun man!

Lebron: “I don’t think I’m better than you, really.”

Paquito: “That’s why, the only thing left for us is to enjoy on the track, come on man, we’re going to try to have fun!”
