Gonza Alfonso and Tolito Aguirre lost in their Premier Padel debuts in Mar del Plata

In the Mar de Plata P1 competition, the A1 Padel's most in form couple lost.

This Monday at the Islas Malvinas Sports Center, the competition for the main draw of the Mar del Plata Premier Padel P1 got underway with a sizable crowd, some unexpected outcomes, and the presence of Vice President Victoria Villarruel of Argentina.

The highlight of the day came from the Argentine team Federico Chiostri and Maximiliano Sánchez Blasco, who eliminated the Spanish Arnau Ayats and Spaniards in straight sets. The Argentine couple received a wild card by winning one of the FIP Rise events held by the Argentine Padel Association. Francisco Guerrero scores 6-2 and 7-6.

After winning a second wild card through the APA’s FIP Rise, the Argentine Hispanic team of Pol Hernández and Ramiro Valenzuela also made it to the second round, defeating Miguel Solbes and Carlos Marti of Spain 6-2 and 6–4.

Miguel Lamperti and Juan Cruz Belluati of Argentina, on the other hand, prevailed in a hard-fought match against Anton Sanz and David Gala Sánchez of Spain, 7-6 and 7-5.

The most visually appealing match of the day took place in the final round at the center, when the Spaniards Pablo Lijó and José Diestro upset the Argentinians Leonel Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso 7-5 and 6-4.

Additionally, and even with strong local support, the Italian-American duo Facundo Domínguez and Aris Patiniotis from Mar del Plata were unable to muster much resistance against Denis Perino of Italy and Pablo García Rodrigo of Spain, who won 6-3 and 6.0.
