Rocket Padel, a Scandinavian brand, is gearing up for significant expansion in London, banking on a tenfold growth in the number of padel players. The company is set to open a new club in Beckton, east London, in April 2025. This will be Rocket Padel’s seventh club worldwide and its fourth in England.

Sebastian Gordon, the founder of Rocket Padel, expressed confidence in the potential for growth, stating, “I think you can definitely see between five and 10x from now. The UK has the perfect ingredients, with their racket heritage from tennis, squash and badminton, and a big mix of people. To some extent, we might not ever reach over saturation in London, especially on premium indoor facilities.”

The new Beckton site will feature five indoor and three outdoor courts, complemented by a spa, cafe, and co-working office space. This expansion is part of Rocket Padel’s strategy to cover most of London within the next two years.

Gordon added, “We’re taking it step by step. There’s no hurry. I think that the growth happening in the UK now is quite sound, especially in London.”

With the number of padel players in the UK growing from 6,000 in 2019 to 129,000 at the last count, Rocket Padel is optimistic about the future of the sport in the region.
