The construction of a clubhouse and four new padel courts at Mansfield Town’s One Call StadiumMans has been approved.
The new courts will be situated off Quarry Lane on a plot of vacant land close to 3G pitches.
The World Padel Academy (WPA) first presented the £1 million project to the Mansfield District Council in November.
The implementation of covered and safe cycle parking facilities was one of the criteria imposed by the council on its approval of the new development, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
The development is a part of the WPA’s, an organization based in the United Arab Emirates, larger £10 million investment to promote the sport in the UK.
The action was taken in response to Notts County’s November 2022 opening of new padel courts at Meadow Lane Stadium.
