Gran Canaria will be dressed with flags from different countries, all over two international weeks. There, on the island, competitions will take place between August 9 and 11 at the FIP Promises Gran Canaria and, right after, an FIP Star event.

Junior category

The first of these will take place at the La Calzada club and will be in the junior category, within the calendar of the International Padel Federation, with the organization of the Canary Islands Padel Federation.

The spectacle of the best international padel will not stop after this tournament because two days after it ends the curtain will rise again to celebrate the FIP Star Gran Canaria, a competition that will award a total of 62 points for the FIP ranking and will distribute 25,000 euros in prizes equally between women and men.

On this occasion, the activity will be moved to the court that will be installed in the Plaza Alcalde Fernando Ortiz Wiot, formerly Plaza Churruca, while the La Calzada club will be the auxiliary venue.

The Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands, through Promotur, as well as the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria offer institutional support to a tournament that also has the sponsorship of Piz Buin and Neutrógena.

The Padel Spanish Federation

The competition is also part of the Spanish Padel Federation ‘s Impulso programme to promote young talents and their transition to elite competition. That is why, in addition to the prize money of 25,000 euros that is distributed in the tournament, there is an additional economic endowment of 2,500 euros that is shared between the two best male and two female players in the junior category, and the three best male and three best female players under-21.

In the 2023 edition, Javier Martínez from Valladolid and Jairo Bautista from Malaga were proclaimed champions, while in the women’s category the winners were Bea Caldera from Valladolid and Ana Catarina Nogueira from Portugal .
