BNL ROME MAJOR. Thursday matches with Coello, Tapia, Galan, Chingotto, Navarro, Lebron and more

Padel, like tennis, has a unique advantage of fewer matches resulting in greater spectacle. The BNL Italy Major will feature the round of 16, featuring the first weekly challenges between top seeds in search of a final weekend spot. The matches will start at 6pm with the number 1 Sanchez/Josemaria, followed by the first two couples of the men's circuit, Chingotto/Galan, and Tapia/Coello. The afternoon will see Ustero/Alonso, Belasteguin/Juan Tello, Campagnolo/Leal, and Di Nenno/Stupaczuk against Ruiz/Cardona. The Foro Italico will also feature great padel on Court 7 and Court 8, with a single dish on the padel sauce menu.

Padel, like tennis, has a peculiarity: a smaller number of matches equals a greater spectacle, because as the days go by only the strongest remain . The BNL Italy Major will notice this on the very hot (on the pitch and in the temperatures) Thursday dedicated to the round of 16, which will propose the first weekly challenges between the top seeds, in search of a place for the final weekend. On the Centrale the start will be Italian, with Giorgia Marchetti who in the most important match of her career (together with Lea Godallier) faces at 9 in the morning the n.2 Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, fresh from two titles in a row. In the morning also Navarro/Lebron , who will need a better performance than the previous one to beat Bergamini/Ruiz.

The matches

From 6pm the most awaited: first the number 1 Sanchez/Josemaria, then the first two couples of the men’s circuit, promoted to Centrale after their debut on Pietrangeli. Chingotto/Galan challenge the surprises Bautista/Guerrero, while Tapia/Coello will end the day against Barahona/Zapata . Programming again divided into two bands also on Pietrangeli and Campo 7, always with the afternoon restart at 6pm. It will be an opportunity to see the terrible babies Ustero/Alonso in action, against Mesa/Ruiz Soto who eliminated Salazar/Castillon. Then it will be the turn of Fernando Belasteguin and Juan Tello , against Campagnolo/Leal. Then, in the last match, to the “Superpibes” Di Nenno and Stupaczuk, opposed to Ruiz/Cardona .

It is almost superfluous to point out that at the Foro Italico there will also be great padel on Court 7, as well as on Court 8 which borders the players’ restaurant. There is only one dish on the padel sauce menu, but it promises to satisfy even the most demanding palates: at 7pm the former world number 1s Sanyo Gutierrez and Maxi Sanchez will challenge the talented Arroyo/Alonso .
