Fernando Belasteguín is living a very sweet moment. He celebrated his 45th birthday in style in his native Pehuajó surrounded by family and friends, and now he is competing in the Mar de Plata Premier Pádel with the unconditional support of his countrymen.
After the victory in the round of 16 phase of the tournament, the historic setback wanted to take the floor to dedicate the victory to someone who marked his life. “There is a very special person among us. 34 years have passed. He was my first teacher. He taught me a lot of things, not only about sports but about life,” he began while trying to hold back tears.
“Still, every day, I think about how lucky I am that it was such a story, to be able to play today and for him to come see me. There is a book that I read twice, I recommend it to everyone because it is a spectacular book, which is called ‘Tuesdays with my old teacher’. For me, from now on the book will be called ‘Thursdays with my old teacher'”, declared Belasteguín , very emotional.
