From Friday, October 4, to Sunday, October 6, 2024, Padel Haus Dumbo will host the inaugural US Open Padel Championships, which will bring the Nox USPA Circuit’s last Major to New York City.
A $15,000 prize pool, split equally between the men’s and women’s divisions, will be up for grabs as competitors. Everyone competing in the US Open Padel Championships can expect intense competition. The top players from the USA and around the world will be invited to compete in three divisions for both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
This year’s competition, which is hosted by the United States Padel Association (USPA), is the fourth and last major on the 2024 Nox USPA circuit. It comes after the US Open tennis, which was played recently at Flushing Meadows and was another significant event for racquet sports in the area. It promises to be a game-changing moment for Padel and a historic occasion for the fastest-growing sport in the world in the US.
The 2024 US Open Padel Championships will be the first of its kind and will join a storied tradition of Open Championships in America when it starts at the legendary Padel Haus Dumbo next month. It will follow in the footsteps of its counterparts, the US Open Tennis Championships, which started in 1881, and the US Open Golf Championships, which started in 1895.
Across 110 ntions, there are currently over 30 million Padel players globally. Professionally speaking, there is an international circuit with about 5,000 players from more than 70 countries.
With 25 new clubs launching in the first half of 2024, the sport is rapidly expanding in the US. This competition is a fantastic way to highlight the sport’s expansion in the US and serve as a launchpad for spreading the enthusiasm across the country.
The championship draw for both the men’s and women’s divisions will have 64 teams, and all tournament matches will be webcast live. While some Division 2 and Division 3 matches will take place at nearby locations like Domino Park and Williamsburg, the main draw matches will all take place at Padel Haus Dumbo.
