Romeo Beckham, 21, celebrated his victory on Instagram on Wednesday by sharing a picture of his father David laughing while he was losing. Romeo, a forward for Brentwood FC, joyfully displayed a “L” sign to symbolize his father’s passing, while David, 49, laughed and shook his head while sporting an orange tank top and white Adidas shorts.
In a spirited match of padel in the sun, the two faced off against Diego Schwartzman, the rising star in Argentine tennis. Played in pairs on enclosed courts, pédale is a racket sport akin to tennis that became popular in Mexico in the 1960s.
Romeo, the second son of David and Victoria Beckham, was gloating about his victory on Instagram when he shared the results of the competitive match. He captioned the photo with a laughing face and a flexing arm emoji, boasting that there is no better feeling than beating your dad.
David, on the other hand, accepted his loss and reposted Romeo’s photo along with a new caption.
“Had to let you win one game at least.” He also shared another photo of the trio outside the padel court, writing, “Fun Padel game against @dieschwartzman & @romeobeckham. Dad WON sorry guys England Win.”
Romeo looked over David’s shoulder in the picture, which showed him smiling. David was wearing a white cap and a green Adidas tank top. After the game, Diego, 31, went shirtless and looked flushed.
Diego also shared a selfie of himself and Romeo in the shade, posing for a picture with his 715,000 followers. Romeo looked exactly like his father, donning a white tank top that emphasized his tattoo and a backwards Nike cap. With a laughing emoji and the comment “revenge coming soon” on David’s post, he heightened the lighthearted rivalry.
The pranks and playful contests of the Beckham family, who are well-known for their spirit of competition, are often shared on social media.
