Padel courts will be added to the next phase of Stockport’s Exchange plan.

Three padel courts will be added to the Exchange office development in Stockport as part of its ambitious phased development. The modern office development, located across from the Town Hall and between Stockport train station and the main A6 through the town, is where developer Muse, in collaboration with leisure operator Social Sports Society, has submitted a planning proposal to open a three court, 1,500 square meter padel facility.

The three-court facility is a component of the town’s larger £1 billion revitalization plan, which also includes future developments of Stockport Exchange, which houses Music Magpie, BASF, ONP, and Stagecoach among other companies in its first two operational buildings.

At the complex known as Stockport’s Spinningfields, a third structure is presently under construction. The last, fourth phase of the project will be built in its place, involving the destruction of a run-down row of stores on the A6. Nearby lies Stockport 8, a brand-new neighborhood being developed by the Mayoral Development Corporation of Stockport, which is responsible for constructing thousands of new dwellings.

The Manchester-based architectural firm IF_DO created the new reception space featured in the leisure facility’s site plans, which are also close to Grand Central Swimming Pool. JMS Planning is submitting the application on the company’s behalf. Muse’s development manager, Ella Woodward, stated: “Having the opportunity to bring an offering like this to Stockport is fantastic for the area. Muse is deeply embedded in the town and through our work on Stockport Exchange and Stockport 8, we’ve spoken to lots of local people and businesses. The feedback we receive often focuses around the importance of wellbeing and community, so we believe that a new padel venue will very well received.”
