Registration for the 37th edition of the Babolat Trophy Spanish Junior Padel Championship ended yesterday, August 8 , registering an unprecedented record of registrations in an official padel competition. With 863 pairs registered for the event that will be held at the Somontes Sports Club, the record of 855 pairs that participated in the 2018 edition of the Spanish Junior Championship was exceeded .
The president of the Spanish Padel Federation, Ramón Morcillo, stated that “this new, historic record is the result of the work that both the FEP and the Autonomous Federations do with minors, predicting a great future for our sport.”
More than 1,700 players will take part in the top national padel event , which will start in Madrid on August 26 and will run until September 1, crowning new champions in the various categories that the competition covers: benjamin, alevín, infantil, cadet and junior.
The Somontes Sports Club, the official venue of the competition, and the Puerta de Hierro Sports Club, as an auxiliary venue, are already preparing to host not only the competition, with a total of 40 courts, but also to cover the needs of the event. Various activities, activations and surprises that will take place during the week are already being prepared and finalised and will be communicated through the official social media profiles of the Spanish Padel Federation, the Somontes Sports Club, the Madrid Padel Federation and Babolat Spain.
