Agents from the Valladolid Local Police managed to stabilise a man in his 50s who suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest while he was practising sport at a paddle tennis complex in the capital.

The incident occurred at around 7.20pm last Friday, when the local police department received a call from the 112 emergency service, alerting them to the illness of a man at the ‘Pádel Vip’ Club, located on Zanfona Street, according to police sources who spoke to Europa Press.

Officers from the force were dispatched to the scene and once there they found a man in cardiac arrest who was being assisted by an off-duty local police officer. The newly arrived colleagues joined in with the CPR manoeuvres, assisted a few minutes later with a defibrillator carried by other officers.

The officers had to shock the man to regain his heartbeat, and later medical personnel joined in the efforts to stabilize the victim and transfer him alive to the University Clinical Hospital.
