On Monday in Milan, Portuguese duo Nuno and Miguel Deus etched their names into Premier Padel history by winning the longest men’s match ever played on the tour. After 3 hours and 17 minutes of relentless competition, they overcame Argentina’s Ignacio Piotto and Denis Perino with a final score of 6/7, 7/6, 6/3.
The match featured two tie-breaks and a physically demanding third set, pushing both teams to their limits. The Deus brothers, overwhelmed with emotion at the end, were visibly moved by the magnitude of their achievement.
Breaking the previous record
This epic encounter surpasses the previous record set in 2024 at Mar del Plata, where Fernando Belasteguín and Juan Tello defeated Diestro and Lijó after 3 hours and 11 minutes of play. Milan now holds the distinction of hosting the longest matches in both the men’s and women’s circuits.
Milan’s courts continue to shape padel history
The Milano P1 tournament has become synonymous with endurance and drama. Last year, the city witnessed the longest women’s match in Premier Padel history when Mariana Lobo and Sofía Saiz triumphed over Riera and Borrero in a 4-hour and 39-second marathon.
The slower playing conditions in Milan, known for extending rallies and demanding greater stamina, contribute significantly to these record-breaking performances. The city remains a stage for unforgettable battles, where players must draw deeply on both physical and mental reserves.
