In the heart of Valladolid’s historic Plaza Mayor, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello delivered a masterclass in padel to defeat Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón 7-5, 6-4 in the final of the Premier Padel P2. The duo, already ranked number one in the world, added their 34th title to an ever-growing collection, solidifying their dominance in the 2025 season.
The match opened with high-octane exchanges, as Stupaczuk and Lebrón surged ahead to a 5-3 lead in the first set. But just when the momentum seemed to favor the challengers, Tapia’s precision and Coello’s court coverage flipped the script. They rattled off four consecutive games, capitalizing on a missed smash by Stupaczuk to clinch the set 7-5.
The second set began with Coello and Tapia breaking serve immediately, a blow from which their opponents never fully recovered. Despite Lebrón battling through visible back pain and calling for medical attention, he and Stupaczuk fought valiantly. Yet the consistency and composure of the top seeds proved too much, as they closed out the match 6-4.
For Coello, the victory was especially meaningful. Though he had won in Valladolid before, this was his first triumph on the iconic Plaza Mayor stage. The crowd, packed into the square, roared with approval as their local hero lifted the trophy once more.
While Tapia and Coello continue to blaze a trail through the tour, Stupaczuk and Lebrón leave Valladolid with heads held high. Their semifinal win over Chingotto and Galán marked a breakthrough, and their chemistry hints at more deep runs to come.
Next stop: Bordeaux, where the padel elite will reconvene for another chapter in this electrifying season.
