Golden Globe-nominated actress Lily James has taken on a new role off-screen as the global ambassador and investor for Connect Padel UK, a fresh operator aiming to revolutionize the padel scene in Britain. The initiative promises to deliver state-of-the-art facilities, expert coaching, and a welcoming environment for players of all levels.
Connect Padel UK, founded by Charlie Thomson—who also happens to be James’s brother—has committed to making the sport more accessible and inclusive. A key part of this mission includes offering 1,000 hours of free court time annually to children from disadvantaged communities, schools, and local charities.
James expressed her enthusiasm for the project, sharing how she fell in love with padel from the moment she picked up a racket. She emphasized the importance of creating spaces where everyone, especially women and girls, can enjoy and grow within the sport.
With its first location set to be announced soon, Connect Padel UK is positioning itself as more than just a sports operator. It aims to foster vibrant communities through tournaments, social leagues, and inclusive programs that bring people together both on and off the court.
