In a surprising turn of events, the second Premier Padel P1 tournament of the season will no longer be held in Barcelona but in Tarragona. The decision, confirmed by multiple sources including Sport, marks a significant shift in the Spanish leg of the 2025 Premier Padel calendar.
Originally scheduled to take place in Barcelona from July 27 to August 3, the event has now been relocated to the Palau d’Esports de Catalunya in Tarragona. This venue, also known as the Palacio de los Deportes Juegos Mediterráneos, boasts a capacity of nearly 4,837 spectators and previously hosted the 2018 Mediterranean Games. It will now welcome professional padel for the first time.
The move comes after weeks of uncertainty and a delayed announcement regarding the tournament’s final location. With this change, Tarragona joins Gijón, Valladolid, Málaga, Madrid, and Barcelona (which will still host the Premier Padel Finals in December) as one of six Spanish cities on the 2025 Premier Padel circuit.
This relocation not only expands the sport’s reach within Catalonia but also introduces Tarragona to the global padel stage. Organizers are expected to release full details of the event in the coming days, as the city prepares to host some of the world’s top players in a summer showcase of elite competition.
