Padel is rapidly becoming a favorite among racket sports enthusiasts in Central Florida, with growing demand for courts and facilities. While pickleball remains the dominant racket sport in the U.S., padel is attracting players who enjoy its fast-paced and physically engaging nature.
Senior padel coach Leonard Lopez at the USTA Tennis Center highlighted the sport’s intensity, noting that it requires more movement and endurance than pickleball. Despite this, padel remains accessible to players of all skill levels, making it an appealing option for those looking to try something new.
To accommodate the rising interest, BullDog Padel Club is set to open in Laureate Park, Lake Nona. The club, which is partnering with Tavistock Development, aims to provide a high-quality facility with six courts, locker rooms, and a social area for players to gather and enjoy the sport. There is also potential for a seventh stadium court, depending on final plans.
With padel’s popularity continuing to grow, the new club is expected to become a hub for players in the region. The expansion of facilities like BullDog Padel Club reflects the increasing enthusiasm for the sport and its promising future in Central Florida.
