Soul Padel has launched a new nationwide initiative, Soul Timers, designed to support older adults in discovering or rediscovering the game of padel. The program aims to create an inclusive environment where players with more life experience can stay active, social, and competitive.

Soul Timers offers a structured approach tailored to the pace and preferences of mature players. The initiative includes beginner-friendly introductions, weekly social matches, leagues, and tournaments, ensuring that participants can enjoy the sport at their own level. The program debuted in early June at Soul Padel’s new four-court facility in Stockport, marking the first step in a broader strategy to make padel accessible to all ages.

Mark Hewlett, CEO and Founder of Soul Padel, emphasized the importance of lifelong participation in sports. He highlighted that padel is not just for younger athletes but can be enjoyed at any stage of life. With around 38% of the UK population aged 50 or over, yet only a small percentage actively playing padel, Soul Timers seeks to bridge this gap by encouraging older adults to embrace movement in a fun and social setting.

This is what he said: “Padel isn’t just for the fast and furious. It’s a sport you can grow with, and Soul Timers ensures no one is left behind simply because they’re no longer in their twenties. We’re building a space that champions connection as much as competition, where everyone can feel confident picking up a racket, at any stage of life.”

The initiative responds to a growing demand for sports formats that promote physical activity and social engagement. Each session is designed to support well-being while fostering connections on and off the court. Soul Timers is expected to expand to more locations later this year, offering older players a welcoming space to enjoy the game.
