Former Premier League footballer Fabio Borini has teamed up with businessman Anthony Bingham to launch Padel 16, a brand dedicated to revitalizing sports clubs through padel facilities. Their first project at Worsley Sports Club in Salford is now complete, marking a significant step in their mission to enhance local sporting communities.

Padel 16 aims to breathe new life into existing sports clubs by introducing high-quality padel courts while reinvesting revenue into the facilities. The Worsley Sports Club project features four outdoor padel courts with panoramic glass, designed to create an engaging environment for players of all levels. Borini, who currently plays for Sampdoria in Italy’s Serie B, envisioned the initiative while playing in Turkey, later refining the concept alongside Bingham.

The name Padel 16 holds personal significance for Borini, as it reflects his daughter’s birth date and the number he wears on his football jersey. The project is built on a philosophy of community engagement, ensuring that the club becomes a destination rather than just a place for matches. Borini and Bingham emphasize the importance of fostering social connections, making Worsley Sports Club a hub for both sport and camaraderie.

With padel rapidly growing in popularity across Europe, Padel 16 is set to expand its efforts, bringing modern facilities to more clubs in need of revitalization. The success of the Worsley Sports Club project signals a promising future for their vision of combining sport, community, and sustainability.
