Padel, one of the fastest-growing racket sports in the world, is set to make its debut in West El Paso with the construction of a $3.7 million sports complex. The project, led by Padel Paso Properties, will feature eight padel courts and a full-service restaurant, bringing a new recreational experience to the area.
The El Paso City Council unanimously approved an incentive package for the development, which will be located near North Resler Drive and Helen of Troy Drive. The restaurant is expected to open by August, while the courts are scheduled to be completed by December.
Padel has gained popularity worldwide due to its fast-paced gameplay and accessibility. The sport, which combines elements of tennis and squash, is played in an enclosed court and emphasizes strategy and teamwork. Its rise in the United States has led to the establishment of new clubs and facilities, with El Paso now joining the movement.
The new complex is expected to attract both casual players and competitive athletes, further expanding the sport’s presence in Texas. As construction progresses, excitement continues to build for the arrival of padel in West El Paso.
