The Dormilona is one of the most spectacular and difficult shots in padel. It is a delicate touch shot used when the opponent’s ball bounces off the back wall and returns toward the net with little speed.
Instead of hitting the ball with power, the player executes a soft, sliced shot, causing the ball to drop just behind the net with a backward spin, making it nearly impossible for the opponent to return.
This shot requires great technique, timing, and composure. It is often used by top-level players, such as Juan Martín Díaz and Miguel Lamperti, who have made it famous in professional padel.
