Hexagon World Series: a new chapter for padel

The Hexagon Cup, launched just three years ago, has quickly become one of the most prestigious team competitions in padel. Now, it is expanding its vision with the creation of the Hexagon World Series, a global team circuit developed in partnership with the International Padel Federation (FIP) and 54, the sports and entertainment agency behind LIV Golf.

The launch in London

On December 17, the Hexagon World Series was officially presented in London at an exclusive event attended by Spanish and international media, along with players Pablo Cardona, Francisco Guerrero, and Manu Castaño. The announcement outlined plans for a circuit featuring three to four events across different global locations, with dates yet to be confirmed.

Strategic alliance

The agreement establishes the Hexagon World Series as the official global team circuit, fully governed by the FIP and integrated into its calendar. This collaboration aims to strengthen padel’s ecosystem, expand commercial opportunities, and support the sport’s Olympic aspirations.

“This alliance marks a new chapter in the history of padel. Together with 54, FIP, and the support and fantastic relationship with Premier Padel, we will build the first truly international global team circuit, expanding the vision of the Hexagon Cup and creating something never before seen in our sport.” Enrique Buenaventura, founder of Hexagon Cup, said.

FIP’s role

The FIP emphasized its mission to grow padel at all levels, from grassroots to elite competition. The Hexagon World Series is seen as a way to consolidate and stabilize the sport’s ecosystem.

“FIP’s mission is to develop and grow padel at all levels of the pyramid, from grassroots and amateur participation to the professional elite, worldwide. The launch of the Hexagon World Series further strengthens, consolidates, and stabilizes our ecosystem with the sport’s most prestigious competitions.” Luigi Carraro, FIP president, commented.

Global investment

The project is backed by international investors, including PadelPark India, Padel Hub (UK), Epic Padel (US), Players Fund (UK), and LinkinFirm (Brazil), alongside partners from Mexico, Spain, the United States, and the Middle East. This diverse capital structure reinforces the strength of the Hexagon Cup and its ability to lead padel’s international expansion.

Commercial vision

54, known for its role in LIV Golf, highlighted the opportunity to accelerate padel’s professionalization and global reach.

“Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports globally, and we see an incredible opportunity to help accelerate its professionalization and international reach. Partnering with Hexagon Cup and FIP to create the Hexagon World Series is a natural extension of our commitment to building the world’s most exciting sports properties.” Gary Davidson, COO of 54, said.

Impact on padel’s future

Together with Premier Padel, the Hexagon World Series will form a dual structure: Premier Padel will continue to showcase the best pairs in the world, while the Hexagon World Series will introduce an innovative team competition. This combination under FIP governance is expected to drive padel’s long-term success and global visibility.
