Since the beginning of the 2023 season, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia have established themselves as one of the most consistent and successful pairs in padel. Their results on the court have been impressive, but Coello insists that their bond off the court has been just as important in shaping their success.
The importance of trust
Speaking during Media Day at the Acapulco Major, Coello explained how his relationship with Tapia has grown over time. “One of my main personal goals when I started playing with Agus two and a half years ago was that, in addition to syncing up on the court, I wanted to do so off the court as well. This way, we could create an atmosphere of trust so we could talk to each other and grow; I believed that was the key. Then I was lucky enough to also find a friend with whom I share many moments and enjoy,” said Coello.
Results and chemistry
The pair’s achievements have highlighted their ability to combine technical skill with mutual understanding. Their close relationship has allowed them to adapt quickly in matches, maintain composure under pressure, and build a dynamic that flows naturally day to day.
A partnership beyond the court
Coello emphasized that the friendship he has developed with Tapia goes beyond professional competition. Sharing experiences off the court has strengthened their connection, creating a foundation that supports their performance during tournaments.
