The Paraguayan Padel Federation becomes part of the Olympic Committee

The Paraguayan Padel Federation (FEPARPA) has achieved a landmark moment by officially joining the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP) as an Associate Member. The announcement was made through an official statement released on FEPARPA’s media channels. “We celebrate a great step forward,” read the note from the Federation, which added, “This recognition strengthens our work as a National Sports Federation and encourages us to continue growing and to build an increasingly strong Paraguayan padel.”

Galeano highlights the importance of recognition

Diego Sebastián Galeano, president of FEPARPA, underlined the significance of the affiliation. “For the first time in history, the Paraguayan Padel Federation becomes part of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. For us, it is an important milestone because it allows us to have a voice within the Olympic structure,” Galeano stated, emphasizing how this step consolidates padel’s role in the country’s sporting landscape.

Carraro’s congratulations from the FIP

Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation (FIP), congratulated FEPARPA on the achievement. “My thanks, and that of the entire FIP, go to president Diego Sebastián Galeano and the national federation he leads for this wonderful news. It is an important achievement, a valuable piece in the great mosaic that we are all building together for the future of padel. And I want to thank the COP and its president, Camilo López, for welcoming padel into the Paraguayan Olympic family,” Carraro said.

A growing presence in international padel

This milestone follows Paraguay’s successful hosting of the XIV FIP Juniors Padel World Championships in November 2023 in Asunción. The event was hailed as a major success, showcasing the country’s ability to organize international competitions and highlighting the growing enthusiasm for padel in South America.

With its official inclusion in the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, FEPARPA now has a stronger platform to promote padel nationally and internationally. The recognition not only validates the Federation’s efforts but also opens new opportunities for Paraguayan athletes to shine on the global stage.
