FIP Promises revolution: how the circuit will change in 2026

Starting in 2026, the FIP Promises circuit will undergo a major transformation. The international youth competition will no longer be organized on a global scale but will instead be divided into four continental circuits: FIP Promises Europe, FIP Promises America, FIP Promises Asia/Oceania, and FIP Promises Africa. Each circuit will feature its own rankings, both male and female, across categories Under 18, Under 16, Under 14, and Under 12, culminating in continental Finals.

Expanding opportunities worldwide

The change aims to increase accessibility and participation, ensuring that young talents from every continent have the chance to compete at the highest level. In 2025 alone, the circuit hosted 90 tournaments across 23 countries, with Spain leading the way with 13 events, followed by Brazil with 12, Italy with 10, and Portugal with 8. Nations such as Egypt, Belgium, Ecuador, Germany, Chile, the Philippines, South Africa, and the United Kingdom also played a role, highlighting the global reach of the competition.

Breaking European dominance

Until now, youth rankings have been largely dominated by European players, due in part to the majority of tournaments being held in Europe. From 2026, players from America, Asia/Oceania, and Africa will have greater opportunities to reach top positions and qualify for Finals. This shift is expected to foster stronger competition, greater ambition, and a rise in the overall level of play worldwide.

Looking ahead to 2027

The evolution of FIP Promises will continue in 2027 with the launch of a new global circuit for Under 18 players. This will consist of 10 international tournaments and a final Master event, reserved for the highest-ranked players from each continental circuit.

The FIP Promises Award

Another innovation will be the introduction of the FIP Promises Award. Beginning in 2027, the top 10 players in the global rankings will earn the opportunity to participate in selected Premier Padel and Cupra FIP Tour events the following season, with reserved spots. This initiative, inspired by similar pathways in tennis, is designed to accelerate the transition of young talents into the professional padel scene.

A global vision for padel

The International Padel Federation’s long-term goal is to make the sport increasingly global, not only in participation but also at the highest competitive level. The restructuring of FIP Promises represents a decisive step toward nurturing the next generation and ensuring that padel continues to grow across every corner of the world.
