Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto delivered a clinical display against Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Chozas in the quarterfinals of the FIP World Cup Pairs 2025, held in Kuwait. The Spanish-Argentine duo won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, completing the match in just over 78 minutes.
Their performance was marked by precision and control. Galan and Chingotto won 56% of total points and converted 56% of their break points, while Aguirre and Chozas managed 44% and 40% respectively. The difference was even more pronounced in return points, with Galan and Chingotto claiming 48% compared to 36% from their opponents.
Tactical Superiority and Momentum
From the first game, Galan and Chingotto imposed their rhythm, breaking early and consolidating with solid service games. Their ability to neutralize Aguirre’s flair and Chozas’ aggressive net play proved decisive. The second set saw a brief resurgence from the Argentine pair, but Galan and Chingotto’s consistency on serve and sharp volleys closed the door on any comeback.
“We stayed focused and played our game. That made the difference,” said Ale Galan after the match.
Rivalry Rekindled
This win came shortly after Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia advanced to the semifinals, setting up a potential clash between the two elite pairs. Galan and Chingotto have previously challenged Coello and Tapia, notably defeating them at the Milano Premier Padel P1. Their victory in Kuwait signals that they remain serious contenders for the title.
“We know what it takes to beat the best. We’ve done it before,” Chingotto remarked, referencing their past triumphs.
Looking Ahead
With this result, Galan and Chingotto move into the semifinals, where they will face either the winners of the match between Lebron/Navarro and Tello/Ruiz. Their form and cohesion suggest they are peaking at the right moment in the tournament.
