Padel is thriving across Asia, where a growing community of 130,000 amateur players now spans 30 countries. According to the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department, the number of players and facilities has increased by 20% in 2025 compared to the previous year. The region now boasts 4,600 courts across 1,700 clubs, reflecting a continent-wide embrace of the sport.
“Asia is becoming one of the most dynamic regions for padel,” said a spokesperson from the FIP Data Analysis team. “The growth is consistent and shows strong grassroots engagement.”
Competitive Calendar Driving Momentum
A key factor behind this growth is the region’s increasingly packed competitive calendar. In 2025 alone, Asia hosted three major Premier Padel tournaments, 24 events on the CUPRA FIP Tour, and eight FIP Promises tournaments aimed at developing youth talent. These events have not only elevated the sport’s visibility but also created aspirational pathways for emerging players.
Spotlight on Kuwait and the FIP World Cup Pairs
The highlight of the 2025 season is the inaugural FIP World Cup Pairs, currently underway at Arena Kuwait. Running from November 3 to 9, the event marks a historic milestone for padel in the region. The tournament offers equal prize money for men and women, with a total pool exceeding €1 million and 2,000 FIP ranking points awarded to the winners.
“Kuwait is proud to host this landmark event,” said organizers from Premier Padel. “It reflects our commitment to growing the sport at every level.”
Kuwait itself has become a regional hub for padel, with 580 courts across 202 clubs, according to the FIP’s latest data. The country’s investment in infrastructure and international events has positioned it as a leader in the sport’s Asian expansion.
Looking Ahead
With continued support from federations, sponsors, and local communities, padel’s trajectory in Asia appears strong. The combination of elite tournaments, youth development programs, and accessible facilities is creating a sustainable ecosystem for the sport’s future.
