San Diego hosts the FIP Silver as padel continues its rise across the United States.

Padel continues its rise in the United States as San Diego prepares to host the latest FIP Tour event. Following the success of the FIP Bronze in Austin, the international circuit returns with a FIP Silver tournament at the Padel N9NE courts, running through Sunday. The event brings together top talent from around the world and highlights the sport’s growing presence across North America.

Men’s Draw Packed with Talent

The men’s competition features 32 pairs, promising high-level action throughout the week. Sweden’s Simon Vasquez and Spain’s Luis Oliver Artigas lead the top half of the draw, while Miguel Gonzalez and Albert Trillas anchor the bottom half. These pairings are expected to deliver intense battles as they chase FIP World Ranking points and tour prestige.

Among the standout American names is Vinny Di Francesco, currently the top-ranked male player in the US. He arrives in San Diego fresh off a win in Austin with Argentina’s Octavio Alvarez. Fans will also be watching Nico Agritelley and the all-American duo Jose De Armas and Raul Ruiz, who enter the tournament as the highest-ranked US pair.

“We’re excited to play in front of a home crowd again,” Di Francesco said in a pre-event interview with FIP Tour media.

Women’s Field Showcases International and Local Strength

The women’s draw is led by Catarina Santos of Portugal and Camila Ramme of Mexico, both aiming to secure the title in San Diego. Close behind are Brazil’s Manuela Schuck and Spain’s Aitana Garcia, who are expected to challenge the top seeds with aggressive play and tactical depth.

American hopes rest on Brittany Dubins, the country’s No. 1 female player, who partners with Spain’s Anna Cortiles. Dubins is chasing her third CUPRA FIP Tour title after previous wins in Aveiro and Austin. Marta Morga and Renata Martinez also enter the draw with strong credentials and a hunger for ranking points.

“It’s amazing to see how much padel is growing here,” Dubins told local press ahead of the tournament.

A New Chapter for Padel in the US

The San Diego FIP Silver tournament represents another step forward for padel’s expansion in the United States. With elite players, passionate fans, and increased visibility, the event is expected to energize the local scene and inspire new players across the country.

As the matches unfold at Padel N9NE, the spotlight will be on both international stars and rising American talent, all contributing to the sport’s momentum on US soil.
