Coello and Tapia skip the NewGiza P2, shaking up the padel rankings.

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia have officially withdrawn from the NewGiza P2 tournament in Egypt, leaving the top spot wide open for contenders.

A Surprising Absence in Egypt

The registration window for the NewGiza Premier Padel P2 has closed, and the absence of the world number ones, Coello and Tapia, has sent ripples through the padel community. Scheduled to take place in Giza from October 27 to November 1, the tournament now proceeds without its most dominant pair.

Their decision not to participate comes at a pivotal moment in the season, with only four tournaments remaining. This strategic withdrawal could reshape the rankings as rivals seize the opportunity to climb.

Opportunity for Galán and Chingotto

Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, currently second in the Race rankings, are expected to benefit most from Coello and Tapia’s absence. Competing in both the FIP Platinum in Lyon and the NewGiza P2, they stand to gain up to 750 points if victorious in both events.
