The United States Padel Association (USPA) has announced the launch of the inaugural Inter Club Cup, a groundbreaking addition to the 2025 USPA Tournament Calendar. This exciting new inter-club tournament invites USPA member clubs to bring their teams to compete in a world championships-style format, to be played indoors at U-Padel in Magnolia, Texas, from January 24th to 26th, 2025.
The Inter Club Cup represents a significant milestone for padel in the United States, fostering a sense of camaraderie, team spirit, and competitive excellence. USPA President Martin Sweeney expressed his excitement, saying, “This will be the first event of its kind for the USPA and will bring players across various levels of ability to represent their club. The tournament will use a player’s WPR to ensure fair competition, and it will be exciting to see players competing as a team against other clubs.”

Location: U-Padel, Magnolia, TX
Divisions: Men’s and Women’s (Co-ed teams may enter the men’s division)
Entry Fee: $600 per team
Team Size: Minimum of six players, maximum of eight (clubs may enter multiple teams)
Format: Round-robin matches leading to playoffs and finals
The USPA has adopted the World Padel Rating (WPR) as its official player rating system, ensuring balanced and fair competition. Each club-versus-club match will feature three doubles matches across Lines 1, 2, and 3, with players assigned based on their WPR. Teams will compete in three group play rounds on Friday and Saturday mornings. Playoffs take place Saturday afternoon, with the finals on Sunday morning.
Clubs eager to participate in this historic event must register by December 13, 2024, via email at [email protected]. Team rosters can be adjusted until January 17, 2025.

USPA President Martin Sweeney shared his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “I am very excited to launch the Inter Club Cup. This will be the first event of the 2025 USPA Calendar and will bring players across a variety of levels of ability to represent their club. The tournament will use a player’s World Padel Rating (WPR) to ensure fair competition, and it will be exciting to see players competing as a team in this world championships-style format.”
The tournament will feature Men’s and Women’s divisions, with co-ed teams permitted to enter the men’s division. Each team will play three pairs per match, competing against at least four other clubs in round-robin play, followed by semi-finals and finals. Clubs can enter more than one team, and teams can include up to 8 players to allow for substitutions.
The USPA encourages clubs to bring both men’s and women’s teams, although it is not a requirement. This flexible format allows clubs of all sizes to participate and compete.
